Consulting – Walking Together

I walk a lot, but sometimes it's time to rest, reflect, and heal before trying new things and continuing on our journey.
My practice is currently limited to new patients seeking therapy from within Vermont. However, I am open to working with new or seasoned therapists in consultation or supervision from anywhere, especially those who resonate with the light in my words and want to deepen their integration of experiential and attachment-based therapy approaches into their practice for treating complex trauma and loss.
In addition to individual consultations, if there is sufficient interest, I also offer a variety of process- and skills-oriented consultation groups. Furthermore, I love connecting with small peer support groups for small Q & A discussions to better understand how to integrate different models of therapy. Besides helping to undo therapist aloneness, these meetings help spread the word about what we do that is special, and what each of us brings to this work.
As for me, I have a particular affinity for weaving together modalities such as CSRT, AEDP, and EMDR, integrating parts work, memory reconsolidation, somatic experience, schema theory, and psychodynamic insights, within a family systems and developmental perspective.
I focus a lot on complex trauma that is often invisible to others — the relational, developmental type that can span generations. At the same time, I’m glad to help you stay grounded in whichever model feels most alive for you right now, particularly if you are seeking certification in that approach.
As you may sense, the work I do also invites the unknown and the spiritual into the therapeutic space, offering ways for both patients and therapists who may be hesitant to explore themselves more deeply or to connect relationally.
Through our time together, I hope that you will come to feel more connected to your Self as a therapist and more able to map what is unfolding within your patients. That way, when a patient feels lost in the depths of trauma or dissociation, you won’t lose your way.
This path isn’t for the faint of heart—it takes courage. And it helps to have support. It’s not only about knowing what to do but learning to trust who you are and who you’ve always been at your core.
If you’re drawn to explore this journey with me as your consultant or supervisor, I would love to hear from you at mcecilvt@aol.com to share what feels important for me to know about you and what you hope to both receive and bring to our work.
Hopefully, through conversation, we’ll discover why this connection feels right, meeting each other through the growing light of what’s often unseen.
Like pilgrims, we are moving in the direction that is right for each of us, knowing that we are still walking together in heart, appreciating the opportunity to rest at times, and reflect on how to use what we have been through to help us see the invisible and take care of ourselves rather than continuing to hide.
